Ever wondered if you can afford it?

Everybody has wondered if something is affordable or not... We've made getting that answer easier - if you've logged your income and expense SpentItOn is able to give you a simple estimate (if not, you can always enter the data yourself):

How much should you pay each month (if you're considering taking a loan or putting it on your credit card) or how long should you pay (if you know the amount you're willing to pay).

Or what is the maximum amount of additional expenses you can take upon yourself.

Good news for mobile users!

Some really good news for those of you using iPhone, iPad, iPod (with network), Android enabled devices (such as Google Nexus One or HTC Desire) and almost any mobile.

We launched a minimalistic version of SpentItOn just for YOU!
It is a very cut back version just to enable quick data entry at your current workspace and it is lightweight, so you wouldn't spend a fortune on your data plan. If you need more in your phone you can always switch to "full view" from limited mobile layout.

Also a good tip: disable your GSM data whenever you aren't using Internet services on your phone. Even when not in active use most smartphones tend to send and receive various data bits from the network eating up your data plan.

Another tip is to use as much WiFi as possible (have a WiFi access at home ? Don't use your GSM plan, use your existing connection, this way you aren't paying double!).

Weekend updates

On Friday we discovered a small bug - newly created accounts didn't get their passwords e-mailed to them. This was quickly fixed on the go.

Also, based on the first feedback, we bumped the development of batch uploading of your expenses. And added a possibility to choose the CSV separator for you (check your profile, there is a field called Csv separator - that's it!)

Don't know what CSV is ? Check it out !

As mentioned earlier - started working on batch uploads.
You can test it out for yourself by clicking Upload as Batch on the main page (payments page). Follow the instructions of creating your first CSV for batch uploading on the page and try it out yourself!

As always - feedback is welcome! Leave a comment here or send an e-mail to support@spentiton.com

Tips on shopping

Here are some tips how to save when doing your daily shopping.

Make a list
Having a shopping list will help you to save time, also knowing in advance what you want will make you skip things you didn't want or even need. So the overall amount of things is limited, hence you will spend less!

Have a meal before shopping
Buying for groceries is rather directly related to how are you feeling at that moment. If you are hungry you tend to buy more, not very rational and even unnecessary things.

Track on what you're spending
Knowing the average prices of your every-day shopping items helps you to navigate between a good bargain and a total rip-off.

SpentItOn has started

Ever wondered how much are you spending ? And on what ?

Here is the solution - SpentItOn!

We are creating a service where you can easily track your spending (and earnings), set and reach goals, analyze possibilities where to cut back, set up your family budget (and let your family contribute to it!) or even use it for your business?

We're starting today with the first phase of the service - before any reasonable analyzes a bulk of data is needed.

Sign up today and start entering your data to be there, when the next phase opens.

We've provided you with a rough in sneak peak of what there is to come - different workspaces for shared and contributed entry (families, groups, NPO-s, businesses etc.), goals, reports and much, much more!
